Daytona is a prime beach destination with plenty of options to explore along the scenic coastline as well as inland. Consider:

  • The Al Weeks North Shore Park has an ADA beach accessible ramp where you'll find bicycle racks, picnic tables and grills, and restrooms with showers, plus paved parking spaces.
  • If you're traveling with children, the Frank Rendon Park has a playground with padded floor, water fountain, wooden observation deck and plenty of off-beach parking spaces.
  • The months from October to April are ideal for biking and hiking. Check the great trails at The Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. For a unique ecotourism experience, visit the Lyonia Environmental Center offering several hiking trails, ecology exhibits, saltwater and freshwater aquariums, as well as a very friendly population of Scrub Jays.

Live entertainment

Daytona Beach has a long tradition of being home to the most famous motorsports events in the world. But there's so much more:

  • Baseball fans should visit the historic Jackie Robinson Ballpark, home of the MiLB Daytona Tortugas. Enjoy a ball game during the season that goes from April to September.
  • Golf players love the Daytona's world-class courses, some of them with stunning ocean views. Look for convenient packages that include tee times and accommodations. Even in mid-winter, the average high temp is above 70°F!
  • For fun after sunset, check the bars, pubs, live entertainment, and dance clubs on Seabreeze Blvd, on Main and Beach Streets, and on the A1A from Ormond-by-the-Sea to Ponce inlet.
  • A must-see landmark is the Daytona International Speedway; track tours and the Motorsports Hall of Fame reveal its rich history and tradition.

After a day at the beach, take your time to visit the Arts on Granada gallery at Ormond Beach's art district, where you can appreciate and purchase unique pieces from local artists. If you need a new bikini in the middle of your trip, check out the Bikini Company, with thousands of swimsuits for every age and style. Speed aficionados will love the Daytona 2000 store, with racing apparel and hundreds of die-cast models. The Boardwalk is an exciting combination of amusement park, gift shop and Mardi Gras Fun Center, located right on the beach. And don't miss the experience to shop at the Riverfront Shops of Daytona Beach, with 60+ restaurants, attractions, shops, and its famous Farmer's Market.

Enjoy a great meal outdoors

From small, family-owned cozy eateries to spectacular waterfront restaurants, Daytona never disappoints. Start your day with a great brunch at Crabby Joe's, strategically located on a pier with a fantastic oceanfront view; if you like fishing, you can also try your luck and spend a great time with family and friends on that very same pier. Another longtime favorite is the friendly Cracked Egg Diner on South Atlantic Avenue; word is that their Marvelous Mimosas are truly awesome. If you're visiting the International Speedway, consider ONE DAYTONA, a unique, modern compound across the street offering dining, shopping, and entertainment. For added convenience, you may stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites.
